Gulu Private Resort is a privately owned, family run Resort in East London on the Sunshine Coast of the Eastern Cape, South Africa.

We are just 14km from the East London Airport (a 12min drive) on the R72, coastal road towards Kidds Beach / Port Alfred situated on the Gulu River.

Unwind amidst breathtaking views, surrounded by the tranquility of the Sunshine Coast. Our resort offers a perfect relaxation atmosphere, inviting you to experience the luxury of being free.

Gulu Private Resort is in the process of changing our accommodation to self-catering units. We will soon offer homey units that can sleep up to 4 guests in a unit. We have not forgotten about the couple, you will still be able to choose your self-catering options.

Gulu Private Resort Accommodation

Batchelor Flat with Garden View

Enjoy your stay with family or friends in our open style bachelor flat. This unit consist of 1 double bed and 2 single beds in a cozy but spacious area with an open style kitchen and lounge. This unit has its own private bathroom and seating area.

The kitchen has a fridge/freezer, airfryer, two stove tops, and mini coffee station. The Patio has a mobile braai on. Soon we will cover the patio and it will be perfect for everyday usage. This unit is facing onto the garden with an abundant of wild birds around in the trees.

River Facing Unit

Our 2 bedroom unit is situated on the banks of the Gulu River. See nature come alive while having your first cup of coffee from the lounge with amazing river views. 

This unit sleep a max of 4 guests in 2 bedrooms. One bedroom has 2 single beds and the other bedroom has a double bed. We have made it comfortable by adding two toilets, two showers and 2 basins in the bathroom for your luxury. 

The kitchen has a fridge/freezer, airfryer, two stove tops, and mini coffee station. There is a mobile braai available to move to the back or to the front to ensure you can braai no matter the weather. There is an Open View decoder in the main bedroom and the lounge.

Weddings & Conferencing at Gulu Private Resort

Gulu Private Resort has 4 differently designed venues. Each venue is individually designed to accommodate your needs. Choose between two self-catering venues or two catering option venues. All venues have river views and some flow within the garden.

We have a licensed bar on-site that is fully stocked with the most popular items. If there is something specific that you would like, please feel free to discuss this with us and we will ensure to get it for your selected day/s.

Each venue accommodates a different number of guests with different seating plans. Choose between our wooden tables or round tables. You are more than welcome to hire in different tables and chairs. Please be advised that additional costs apply due to our unique oregon pine bulky furniture.

We understand that it's a costly experience to celebrate a special event, so we are trying our best to make it as easy and affordable as possible for all our lovely guests. Enjoy the luxury of being free to do your own décor, flowers, set-up, break-down and catering in selected venues.

Activities include Hiking, Bird watching, Canoeing, Fishing, Spa treatments and much more!

The ICC, Harbour and Aquarium is a 25min drive from the Resort. Do not forget to stop at the Sea Spirit for some mouth watering, fresh seafood with a beautiful view of the Harbour.

A small shopping center with an OK, OK Liquors, China shop, Freeze land, DIY and PostNet is a 5km drive from the Resort in Kidds Beach.
